from his Last will and testament c1631

And Thou Mother Earthe cover my body with quietness and silence in the nighte without any kinde of showe or ostentacion. Lett not one word be spoken publikley in any kind of commendacion or commemoracion since I acknowledge not to be worthie of it havinge never had at my best but a poor will to doe good As for my religion I hope to dye as I was borne and have ever lived a constant Christian and a protestant of three descentes.
