The Company's technology and expertise is centred around the smart material, Terfenol-D, which is capable of expanding and contracting with high force in a highly controlled and reliable manner when stimulated by a magnetic field. This physical change in the solid material can be used to move large loads and be managed to produce precisely controlled movement, create sound or ultrasound and to cancel noise or mechanical vibrations or even sense pressure. As a consequence there are many unique opportunities to use this technology in a variety of marketplaces.
